2003年的秋天,一批来自各地的年轻人,汇聚到北京电影学院。他们中间有教师、记者、广告人,甚至还有医生。尽管各自的身份迥异,却都是为着同一个目的而来:那就是希望借助影像,在表达各自看法的同时,寻找真实的价值所在。这样的找寻成为一种线索,贯穿了之后整整三年的学习生活。有幸的是,因为手中的摄影机,他们的触角不再局限于这高高的象牙塔和艺术殿堂之中,而是把目光投向了辽阔的社会。我也有幸成为这个队伍里的一员。
三年中,大家因为纪录片走在一起,却又因着对它不同的理解走着不同的创作道路:田苗的纪录片观使得他的影片更具一种人类学的意义,他将“记录”本身视为纪录片创作中至高无上的价值所在;王长江和范俭显然更加偏爱纪录片的社会学意义,他们的纪录片不约而同地把镜头对准了城市的农民,在他们看来,纪录片是思考社会问题以及关注人们生存处境的一种工具;顾亚平借助自己的纪录片,最大限度地接近了一群城市女性艺术家,与其说她希望探究这群女性的生活真相,不如说她借机反身端详了作为女性的自己;钟权则利用了自身身份的特殊,在影片中驾驭起两岸关系和身份认同这两个看似相距甚远的命题,将微观的个人元素和宏观的政治思考连接在一起;说到身份,汪浩如果没有过往的职业生涯,以及因此而养成的视角,断然无法用如此静观的方式提供给观者一个基层医院医患人员的生存状态图,他一直恪守纪录片就如同编年史,提供给读者的只是原封不动的事实,而非观点的呈示;罗莎莎在自己的影片中则试图打破人们认为学院纪录片注定枯燥的一个成见,在她的眼里,纪录片作为一种观照世界的方式,并非只能板起面孔,它同样也能够给人带来视听的愉悦和感动……
正是这些价值诉求的差异,成为了这个团队最为宝贵的财富。三年之后,大家并不敢说在多大程度上领会了纪录片的真义,可恰恰就是在不断的盲打误撞和懵懵懂懂中,镜头面前的生活反倒拨云见雾般初现端倪,并且愈加真切而生动起来。或许,这个时候,纪录片作为一种表达的方式,本身已经不再成为目的。
这次展映,是我们希望作为一个整体出现在大家视野中的一次努力,以缅怀电影学院三年的纪录片时光。但是,我们更希望把展映当作一种鞭笞和一个契机,为的是给自己鼓励和力量,告诉自己我们其实并不孤单。然后,我们继续举起自己的摄影机,继续将时间凝结起来,作为一种表达、一种沟通和一种探寻。
